I have been trying to figure out the need for "Dual Mid SVC". Dealer says you got to have them if you want a front end loader and a bushhog or boxblade on the 4410 at the same time. Does the bushhog and box blade require this? Why doesn't Kubota mention this when they explain the L3830 operations to me?
Thanks

I'll take a stab at this. Deere mounts a standard loader controls on the tractor and when you remove the loader you drive away with the controls on the tractor.

Kubota mounts the loader controls on the left tower of the loader and when you remove the loader you leave the controls with the loader. You can remove the controls and put them back on the tractor but it is a hassle.

Deere charges you for the SCV's when you buy the tractor. Kubota charges you when you buy the loader.

It is a difference in engineering and marketing strategies. After having had both, I like the Deere system better. ....

I think Mark explained the loader controls very well. As for the rotary cutter requiring an SCV. No, not unless you have MMM or the hyd. center link control arm on the 3 pt. hitch. The mid SCV operates the MMM or other link on the 3 pt. hitch or a 4 in 1 bucket. I would STRONGLY recommend you get the dual mid SCV's. This will give you more options down the road and you won't have to pay for it latter. They are not cheap. ....

It's obvious I guess that a loader has to have a valve. However, that valve isn't directly related to the operation of a 3ph implement. I'm guessing that what the dealer meant is that it has to have a power-beyond hookup for both the loader and the 3ph to operate without manually changing a diverter valve. With this setup, the loader or the 3ph will operate but not both at the same time.

I have a three-spool power-beyond valve myself. The third spool provides a valve controlled rear outlet. Very handy for 3ph implements that have hydraulics and very easy to do with my old style valve that has separate control handles--not so easy to do with valves set up for joystick loader controls.

In Deere nomenclature, "dual mid SCV's" means "loader control".

They offer an option to divert the flow to four ports at the rear of the tractor via an eclectic diverter valve. This is called a REAR HYDRAULIC OUTLET KIT.

Deere also has a POWER BEYOND KIT that provides unregulated flow to the rear of the tractor to run backhoes, log splitters and such. ....

I was referring to the 4 way SCV for the loader operation and a separate full time hyd. powered 2 way SCV for the MMM on my particular tractor. It is located just below the 3 pt. hitch lift lever. It is just a another SCV to operate the MMM lift cylinder, but it can operate other things too. ....

Yes, thank all of you for your help. I grew up on a farm using international and farmall tractors that were built in the late 60's and early 70's. Things have sure changed. I am now trying to figure out whether I want the Kubota L3830 or the Deere 4410. Local dealer has a great deal on a 4410 with the epowerreverser for $15200 plus tax. Then I'm still trying to decide on getting it in the Hydro model. I think it will be worth the extra cost.
Thanks again for everyones help.

You are on track. These are not your grandpa's tractors.

I can remember JD and Case tractors from the 50's and pretty much all they did was pull things. Power take-offs consisted of big wheels on the side of the engine that ran huge belts.

When we cleaned the barn twice a day we did it with a shovel. A Small Utility Tractor would have been a dream.

You can get the stationary valve for a Kubota and it mounts on the fender. It is listed for cab tractors. There are uses of tractors that you don't want anything extra hanging, bolted, or supported away from the tractor for damage. Kubota uses valves for the rear like the big farm tractors. ....
